The Maple Heights Master Plan focuses on strengthening commercial centers, engaging and connecting neighborhoods, enhancing City identity, and building partnerships for regional collaboration.
The Maple Heights Master Plan is a long-term guide for the future and is meant to direct the City for the next ten years.
The draft Maple Heights Master Plan is available for review. It was presented to the City Planning Commission and City Council in October 2018 in preparation for adoption of the plan.
Maple Heights was awarded master plan funding through a competitive grant process from the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission. County Planning will facilitate the planning process by bringing together data, community leaders, citizens, and public institutions to craft a plan for action.
The Master Plan is the community’s plan. As such, public input will be collected throughout the planning process, including at three scheduled public meetings. Additionally, the Steering Committee comprised of Maple Heights residents, business owners, stakeholders, and community leaders, will meet to develop and refine the content of the Plan.
Joint City Council/Planning Commission Meeting
County Planning presented the Master Plan to a joint meeting of Maple Heights City Council and the Maple Heights Planning Commission on October 23, 2018.

The Maple Heights Master Plan consists of a five-phase process:
Current Conditions: The Current Conditions phase involves collecting data on demographics, land use, and transportation to be used as a baseline for understanding the community.
Community Vision:? In the Community Vision phase, with input from residents, businesses, and community leaders, County Planning will articulate a vision for how Maple Heights wants to grow and change in the next decade.
Goals and Actions: The Goals and Actions phase will outline the steps necessary to achieve the community’s desired future.
Implementation: The Implementation phase builds on the goals and actions steps from the previous phase to outline strategies, partners, responsibilities, and priorities for undertaking actions.
Master Plan document: In the final phase, County Planning will combine all the previous phases into a completed Master Plan document.
